Holiday worshipper or true worshipper
Main Course: 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).
Are you a holiday worshipper or a holy (true) worshipper? True worshippers are not those who look to or wait for the holiday season to celebrate Jesus (Ps 34:1). They are those who celebrate him every day, those who crown him Lord every day, and those who seek him like the "wise men." True worshippers listen to God and return another way, changed, repentant, and transformed by His word (Matt 2:1-16). True worshippers are those who take up their cross daily and follow him (Lk 9:23). Not just for 2 weeks in December fluttered with good works, but they help others throughout the year and as the Spirit leads them.
Ask yourself, am I a true worshipper or just a worshipper of the holidays being swept away by the cultural festivities, decorations, and traditions rather than engaging in a true worship experience (taking the time to seek and see him face to face)? As the year ends and another begins, let's make a heart decision to be a true worshipper (one who celebrates every day of the year, displaying a life of God's transforming power) and not a holiday worshipper. Does your lifestyle cry holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Is 6:3; Rev 4:8-11)? If so, you are a true worshipper whom the LORD seeks (Jn 4:23).
